Who are the founders of Rubicon Exotic Juice drinks?
We were founded by two ex-employees of a major international soft drinks company. They decided to quit their jobs and start a soft drink company specialising in Exotic Tropical Drinks. The love affair with our exotic fruits started in of the founder’s kitchen, which was also used as a lab, and that’s where the first product was born. It was named as ‘Passionade’ - a sparkling Passionfruit drink - first of its kind in UK then.
But why call a company as Rubicon?
Did you know that Rubicon is a name of a river and it has an interesting story? The mythological meaning of Rubicon comes from the Roman era, when the senate told Caesar that his boundary to the empire should be restricted to the river Rubicon; however, Caesar ventured past the river against the wishes of his senate, and ended up with a large Roman empire. He was a risk taker and so as our founders.
How long has Rubicon been making exotic juice drinks?
We have been specialising in the manufacture of exotic juice drinks since 1982.
Where are Rubicon Exotic Juice Drinks made?
All Rubicon drinks are made in the UK (with the exception of Coconut Water which comes direct from the coconut plantation in the Philippines, & our 300ml glass bottle range, which is made in Canada). The fruit pulp is brought from countries around the world and shipped to the UK for production.
We also manufacture in Canada for the Canadian and North American markets.
Do I have to keep my Rubicon Exotic in the fridge?
All Rubicon cartons and glass bottles will keep at room temperature for 12 months from the date of manufacture in a cool dry place, but once opened they should be kept refrigerated and consumed within 4 days.
The 330ml cans will keep for 18 months, and the 500ml and 2L plastic bottles will keep for 9 months. All our drinks are more refreshing if served chilled.
In the past I was able to get your lovely Lychee litres at my local Sainsbury’s store, I absolutely love this flavour but Sainsbury’s don’t stock it anymore. Where can I find your delightful drinks?
J.Sainsbury's have taken the decision not to sell 1 litre Rubicon Lychee & Guanabana cartons in all of their stores and therefore these flavours are available in only very selected branches of their own choice.
Most of the major retailers stock a selection of our products. Waitrose, Tesco and Asda, offer most of our range of exotic juice drinks in the still and sparkling range. J.Sainsbury's, Safeway, Somerfield and Budgens stock a limited selection.
If you can’t find our products on the retailer shelves, then we suggest that you speak to the store manager. As long as the flavour/range is ordered by their head office, then they should be able to request it in for individual local stores for you. Or, give us a shout, may be we will be able to help finding the Rubicon Exotic drink you are looking for.
