Welcome to the Rubicon Save Our Sight (SOS) website.

Save Our Sight (SOS) is a unique sunglasses collection scheme aiming to help protect the eyesight of the under privileged in the developing world.

Rubicon’s SOS campaign will help raise awareness of the importance of sunglasses and a diet rich in Lutein in the protection and maintenance of eye health. Rubicon has teamed up with vision care charity, The Eyecare Trust, to launch SOS which aims to encourage people to donate their unwanted sunglasses via collection bins at participating opticians from now until the 31st October.

The sunglasses will then be collected and tested for adequate UV protection before being distributed by the ‘Asian Foundation for Help’ to Eye Camps throughout Asia and developing countries.

Although Eye Camps already provide medicine and reading glasses to the under privileged, Rubicon recognised the need for sunglasses as the high levels of UV rays in Asia can lead to cataracts and other eye conditions such as Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
